‘Black Rain’ is an arts collaboration between dark folk troubadours DH Lawrence & the Vaudeville Skiffle Show and visual artist Eugenie Lee.

Pain is a topic that has touched everyone at some time in their life. Each individual’s experience of pain is unique. Yet many have tried to express pain in words and medics have even tried to express pain by numbers. Some argue that both physical pain and psychological pain, hurt and suffering can only be truly expressed through art.

Much like pain, ‘Black Rain’ is an experience that is perhaps best felt, internalised and combined with your own unique kaleidoscope of reality. PLAY IT LOUD!

The full length single/video is issued on 17th June 2016

Did you ever find yourself in a cage
And realised you didn't have the key
Did you ever find yourself under water
And realised you could not breathe

When they asked you to give it a number
A number between nought and ten
That's when you realised
That they'd never felt black rain

They can't feel your pain
It's like black rain

If I could paint you a picture
So you could see how I feel
The image would tear, tear at your senses
Make you see me through different lenses

If I could write you a song
So you could hear it all
The words would tear at your heart strings
And pin your soul to the wall

Cos you can't feel my pain
It's like black rain

It's like back rain

And if I couldn't paint you a picture
And If I couldn't write you a song
I'd still be riding on that train
In the black rain all night long

Cos' it's darker than the darkest river
Deep as the deepest sea
As Red as the reddest blood
That runs inside o' me

Cos you can't feel my pain
It's like black rain

You can't feel my pain
It's like black rain
